Mega Man X Dive Tier List [Apr. 2023] (2023)

One of Capcoms greatest feats in recent history, Mega Man X Dive, is a 2-D platformer game that was released in 2020. And in our Mega Man X Dive Tier List, we will be going through the newest edition of the franchise. Personally, this is a bit of a nostalgia hit for me as I was a big fan of Mega Man growing up. Mega Man is basically a story based around the Deep Log which we have to fix with the aid of the main characters.

A quick disclaimer before we do continue. You may not find the character selection in the following tiers to your liking. However, do know that these characters have been researched thoroughly and will be placed accordingly to that data, as well as a little personal experience.

S Tier

The first tier we will be discussing in the articleis the S tier. It will contain all the mega man x dive characters that I and most of the community find to be the best in the franchise. Much like all the other S Tier characters of every ranking list in existence, our tier will also have the best of the best in their category. Some of these characters are listed below.

Super Bass

The first character we will be discussingis Super Bass. Now I, alongside many others, credit Super Bass with the title of the best character among our Mega Man x Dive Best Character Tier List. Super Bass, as the name suggests, is a super version of one of the main characters “Bass”.

Bass uses Evil Energy to transform into this mega-gigachad character under the aid of Treble. Lastly, if you’re looking for a good character in the mega man x dive level-up fast category, look no further than Super Bass.

Zero Nightmare

Up next is the horrifying entity that is known as Zero Nightmare. Personally, I find Zero Nightmare to be the best-designed character in the game. Zero Nightmare is a modified being made by Gate using the DNA of Zero. The wiki describes him as “Insane” which I agree with definitely.

The ironic part about the character is that it is actually weak to its parent DNA owner, Zero. All in all, when talking about the mega man x dive best character category, Zero Nightmare is definitely a strong candidate.

Ferham

The first female character we will be discussing on our Mega Man x Dive Best Character Listis Ferham. Ferham is a very varying character in the game because she has two sides, like a coin. Heads, the boss, overpowered, and relentless type which the player encounters as one of the key bosses in the game. Tails, the playable, also relentless, and slightly less over-powered type whom the character can play after beating her in battle.

Her weapon of choice is an electric whip and she is described as a very sadistic character. Consequently, she has a very loyal nature when it comes to her commander, Epsilon which was shown during the incident about Giga city.

Third Armor X

The last character in the S tieris an armored variant of our main character X. This variant is called the Third Armor X which is considered to be among mega man x dive’s best character categories. Furthermore, it gives X unparalleled offense and defense stats after it turns to gold when used with the hyper chip.

In numbers, it increases both of those stats by 25% which is quite a lot when talking about X. Lastly, it is definitely something you should keep an eye out for when playing the games.

A Tier

The next category in our Mega Man x Dive Best Character Tier List is the A rank. This is commonly known to contain the better rather than the best of a certain category. In the A tier, we will be discussing some of the more commonly preferred mega man x dive characters. Furthermore, these characters are relatively easy to get compared to the S-tier characters. The A-tier characters are listed as follows.

Proto Man

The first A-tier character is Proto Man. Proto Man is the brother of the main character, Mega Man. Consequently, he is also the rival of Mega Man throughout the series. He was created by Dr. Thomas Light as the first-ever Robot Master of the series. Furthermore, he played a big role in the character development of Rock. Proto is the one character that is not evil but loves to be against the main protagonist, like Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sigma

The next character is Sigma. He first appeared in Mega Man X as the final boss of the game. Furthermore, in the original lore, he was a Maverick Hunter Leader before he goes rogue and takes on the role of the antagonist of the series. Sigma, as the name suggests, is not that much of a threatening boss anymore.

In the older versions, he was an absolute menace, but in mega man x dive, he fails to hold that reputation. That is because of his enormous size which proves to be a hindrance when dodging enemy skill shots. All in all, he is definitely an iconic villain and one of the best when it comes to lore.

Hunter R

The next character we will be discussing is Rico, in her variant under the name Hunter R. When it comes to her character, she is a solid contender for the mega man x dive best character title.

Hunter R is an armor set RiCO designed for herself based on the Kamura Series. Furthermore, RiCO in this variant also uses an iconic weapon named Magnamalo Heavy Blowgun. In addition to all these traits, Hunter R RiCO also has perfect range stats which makes her quite annoying to deal with if she is against you. All in all, she is definitely one of the best side characters a player can hope to see.

Omega

Omega, as the name would suggest, is the final boss of Mega Man Zero 3. As far as character design is concerned, Omega is definitely an oddball. He too is a modification of Zero done by Dr. Weil.

In addition to that, he is also composed of an AI component which is quite apparent in his Hoopa-Like appearance. In terms of gameplay, he is quite savage in every sense of the word. Ironically though, his passive weapon literally means “Savior” in Japanese. All in all, He is in the A tier because of how much of a nuisance he is to defeat in every game. Along with his quite menacing appearance.

Swimsuit Roll

The next character in the tier is Roll, well a variant of her. Swimsuit Roll is an exclusive variant of Roll, which quite possibly could be one of the cutest among all mega man x dive characters. However, Swimsuit Roll is no longer available to obtain. It was an exclusive summer-themed skin in 2020. Swimsuit Roll is an A-tier character because of her cute yet lethal existence in all the games.

Cinnamon

Moving onto one of my favorite characters among the mega man x dive all characters category, Cinnamon. Cinnamon is basically the Nurse Joy of Mega Man x Dive but with a little more firepower. Additionally, She takes the spotlight for being the best fan-favorite character in the franchise. She was created by Dr. Gauldie and has a Force Metal Generator built into her chest for the aid of her allies.

X Kai

The final A-Tier characteris X Kai. When it comes to character lore, X Kai takes the spotlight among the mega man x dive best characters category. He is a killer robot that was being built by Dr. Willy based on X’s blueprints but he gave up when he realized the task was too tough for him. Later on, Serges found the scrapped prototype and helped finish him.

After his completion, he was deployed into the X-Hunters force. He is described as an aggressive and merciless robot who hates to fight against dirty tricks and cheap shots. Lastly, X Kai thought of X as a dangerous opponent but joins his forces when he is defeated.

B Tier

The B-tier is commonly known to contain the decent or above-average entities of their category. These characters aren’t as good as the tiers above but still are among the good in our article. This tier does contain a lot of the main characters of our franchise as well. Without further ado, let us get into it.

Leviathan

Leviathan is one of the four Guardians of Neo Arcadia. Additionally, she is also the Siren General of the Meikai Gundan. Leviathan, as the name would hint, is related to the oceans.

Her main task in the games is the responsibility of cleaning the oceans of the world after the Maverick Wars. Leviathan was made based on the DNA of X and his underwater abilities. All in all, when discussing the underwater environment, she is a strong candidate for the mega man x dive best character category.

Rico

The next character we will be discussing is one we have touched on before in the list, RiCO. As I mentioned, she is the in-game navigator who later on is available as a playable character. However, she is not as strong as her earlier mentioned variant in just her vanilla form. She has to be given credit as a B-tier character because of how useful of a character she is in the game itself.

Furthermore, RiCO is also one of the most favored characters in the game so I really couldn’t bring myself to place her any lower than this. All in all, she is one of the best characters a player should opt for if available.

X

X is the last creation of Dr. Light. I know I have made a lot of pokemon comparisons, but they’re too accurate it would be a crime not to use them. Continuing on about X, he possesses what is called “Infinite Potential” which is one of the best traits among any of the other mega man x dive characters.

The reason that our main protagonist is only a B-Tier character is that he becomes quite useless after a little bit of progress in-game. All in all, he is the perfect B-Tier character in my opinion as he is quite literally the definition of “a little above average”.

Layer

The final character of the B-Tier among the B rank is Layer. Now Layer is quite possibly the most favored character in the entire franchise because of her appearance and personality in-game.

She is also a navigator who has the key task of identifying the weakness’ of bosses when equipped. Additionally, her weapon of choice is a rapier which really fits into her character description. Lastly, Layer is a very calm character throughout the game making her one of the most attractive characters in-game (according to public opinion on Reddit).

C Tier

Onto the next tier of our Rockman x Dive Tier List which happens to be the C-Tier. This tier is universally known to contain the perfectly average entities of their own category. Additionally, it contains characters who are better than the D-tier character but not as good as the characters in the B-Tier.

Pandora

The first character we will be discussing in the C-Tier is Pandora. Pandora is one of the main antagonists of the series who first appeared in Mega Man ZX. Additionally, Pandora is seen working alongside another antagonist named Prometheus who also happens to be her brother. Her character is the quiet and calm type we see in most situations.

Pandora lets Prometheus do most of the talking but she is seen talking on some occasions. Furthermore, she does happen to share some more traits with the cliche antagonist, which are nihilism and being disdained. All in all, she has great character but a very short story which is why she is in the C-Tier.

Vile

Vile is a very interesting character, to say the least. He used to be a Maverick Hunter but later was declared a Maverick because of his actions. According to lore, some errors in electronic brains caused a devastating change in his actions which made him a target for X.

Later on, he was put down by X which drives his story on for the later games. As his name suggests, Vile is a very destructive robot but can be bested by many of the other characters due to which he is in the C-Tier.

Tron Bonne

The next character we will be talking about is Tron Bonne. Tron Bonne is one of the rare humanoid beings that appear in the entire franchise. Additionally, she is also one of the most commonly fought antagonists throughout the series. However, she has taken on the role of a protagonist once in the spinoff game called “The Misadventures of Tron Bonne”. Tron is seen mostly piloting one of the machines whenever she is fought in any of the series.

Tron is one of those lovable villains who no one hates but still is a villain at the end of the day. Lastly, it is because of her constant defeats in every series that she ranks in the C-Tier.

Ciel

Ciel is one of the major background characters in the entire franchise. Genetically engineered to be a genius, she helps in setting up many events throughout the series. Ciel is a very kind-hearted person. However, when needed, she takes up arms to protect all those she cares about. Consequently, she does try to settle matters peacefully before going the violent route. Furthermore, she is described mostly as the supporting character of Zero in almost every game of the series.

Marino

The second last character of the C-Tier is Marino. Her appearance is similar to that of a ninja which is why she is somewhat of a fan favorite among some of the fans. Marino’s character is designed with good intent which was shown when she tried to steal the newly developed technology of Gaudile and spread it among the people, like Robin Hood.

In addition to that, Marino is also seen joining X’s crew during the event in which Dr. Psyche kidnaps Cinnamon. All in all, she is in the C-Tier because she is neither bad nor too great for any of the tiers above this one.

Bit

The final character we will be discussing is Bit. The bit is one of the few characters who are both a boss and a playable character in the games. Additionally, Bit is one of the members of the Nightmare Police. He is seen in the series without any shields, unlike the other members of the Nightmare Police. That is because Bit prefers to maximize his speed rather than contribute to his defense stat. All in all, Bit is one of the most perfect C-Tier characters in terms of stats, lore, and appearance as well.

D Tier

The second last rank in our Mega Man x Dive Best Character List is the D-Tier. The D-Tier is universally known to contain the slightly below-average entities of a respective category. This definition of course applies to the current list as well. Here, we will discuss the mega man x dive characters who fail to do as well as the C-Tiers.

Mega Man

The first character we will be discussing among the D-Tieris the man himself, Mega Man. Quite evident from the name, he is the main protagonist of the franchise. Originally, he was built as a house robot for assisting in household tasks alongside his sister Roll. However, upon his request, he is weaponized by Dr. Light when Light’s robots are stolen and reprogrammed to be destructive machines.

All in all, Mega Man is in the D-Tier not because of his lore but because of his abilities. He fails in almost every combat stat, that is if we don’t consider his other variants.

Alia

She is one of the few navigators on our Mega Man x Dive Best Character Tier List. According to the wiki, she is a highly intelligent Reploid with the ability to make decisions quickly and appropriately. Her ability to analyze information on the spot is quite nice. However, due to her low stats and being the worst navigator in the game, she is in the D-Tier. In DiVE, she is considered to be Pallette’s and Layer’s upperclassman.

Pallette

The next character in the D tier is Pallette. Sheis also one of the navigators in the game who serve the purpose of making on-the-spot decisions for the players. Additionally, she is unique in finding hidden areas and secrets among the stages of the games. Her main duties in the games are to develop new chips from rare metals and form new abilities as well. All in all, she may not be the worst navigator but she has a very restrictive use that serves no help in battles which is why she is in the D-Tier.

F Tier

Here, we will only be discussing two characters from the Mega Man x Dive franchise because according to my opinion, and the public, these are the only two characters that do deserve this tier. Now without any further words, let us dive into this final tier of mega man x dive goodness.

Servbot

The first of the two characters we will be discussing is Servbot. Now to put it as bluntly as possible, Servbot is the mega man x dive adaptation of a lego character. They are a collection of little bots created by Tron Bonne to serve as an aid to whoever may need it. On occasion, they are seen performing extraordinary tasks but majorly throughout the series remain in the background.

They are also seen as a boss encounter in some of the games which is why they’re so low. All in all, Servbot isn’t hated among the community that much, they just aren’t good which is why they are in the F-Tier.

Massimo

Massimo is a very bulky and huge robot that is reminiscent of a gladiator’s appearance. He made his debut in Rockman X Command Mission. Furthermore, he is one of the characters in the game with the shortest lore possible which is why it is quite hard to describe him. All in all, he is in the F-Tier because he fails to do well in any of the games in the series.

Verdict

Like all great things, our Mega Man X Dive Tier List is also coming to an end. To end on a good note I would recommend you play the games of the franchise just because of its lore. However, it’s not only the lore that impresses me, it’s also the character depth and game mechanics which definitely float my boat.
